Andrey Zhemchugov graduated cum laude from the Moscow State University in 1994 with a degree in economics. In 1998, he received a PhD in economics from the Institute of USA and Canada of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Between 1996 and 2001, Mr. Zhemchugov held a number of positions with Russian banks specializing in corporate finance projects and capital market transactions. From 2001 to 2005, he worked for OJSC Bank of Moscow, first, as the Deputy Head and, then, as the Head of Capital Markets Department, where he was responsible for syndicated lending and international debt capital markets transactions. In 2005, he was appointed as an advisor to the president of ALROSA, responsible for investor relations and capital markets transactions. Since 2007 Andrey Zhemchugov has been the head of Capital Markets and Investor Relations department of JSC TransContainer. In 2007 TransContainer entered the equity capital market with a private placement transaction, the first one in the Russian rail sector. In 2010 the company floated 35% of its capital in Moscow and in London
In 2010 TransContainer’s IR team was ranked as No.1 in the Russian Debt Market by the Cbonds News Agency. TransContainer has also received a 2011 Investor Award amongst the three best Russian IPOs. In 2011 Andrey Zhemchugov was ranked among top-1000 best Russia’s managers by the Russian Managers’ Association.
